The Perfect Long Island Staycation at the Inn at Fox Hollow

Written By The Inn at Fox Hollow | 03/11/21 | 4 min read

Here we are at almost the one-year anniversary of the initial COVID-19 lockdown, and while we’re closer to being “back to normal” than we’ve ever been, there’s still a palpable need to find new surroundings outside the house.

The desire to break free from the quarantine blues will be the theme to everyone’s summer getaway, but for some, the prospect of dealing with airport security, crowded flights, and no social distancing might be too much to bear. Luckily, all of the benefits of a relaxing vacation can be realized without traveling too far from home.

You’re no stranger to the term “staycation,” but how about one that doesn’t take place at home? The problem with staycations at home is that for a lot of people these days, their home is also their office. So, what good is a well-earned break if you’re not leaving the same place where you hold all of your work Zoom meetings? There is nothing relaxing about that!

A Staycation At The Inn At Fox Hollow

There’s no doubt that a staycation can spice up the mundane aspects of everyday life—but it’s important to enjoy that time off away from where your work concerns can’t track you down. A staycation at the Inn at Fox Hollow delivers time away from work, without the hassle of travel cutting into your vacation time. The Inn at Fox Hollow gives staycationers all of the fringe benefits of a vacation, all packaged in the picturesque North Shore of Long Island.

Sometimes, even the illusion of travel is enough to get our brains out of the doldrums of work-related burnout. The Inn at Fox Hollow’s many amenities elevate everyday life with all of the reasons why people love to go on vacation in the first place: complimentary meals, cleaning services, spa treatment, pool access, centralized location, and so much more.

Let’s take a look at why the Inn at Fox Hollow is such a great option for a Long Island staycation!

The Pool Area

The Inn at Fox Hollow’s Courtyard Lounge is where you’ll find our immensely popular heated saltwater pool, along with a hot tub, full-service bar, al fresco dining scene, luxury cabanas, lawn games, along with live music and entertainment on select nights. It’s a tropical destination that you’d expect to find at a five-star resort, rather than in your own backyard on Long Island—but we’ve got it!

During these days of social distancing, you can rely on us to keep you safe. Click here to read about our adjusted pool guidelines specifically designed with the health and safety of our guests in mind.

Sitting poolside in our Courtyard Lounge gives you access to a host of amenities (check out photos of the Courtyard Lounge here!). Let’s start with the luxury cabanas, which are available to our guests from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. A cabana rental gives you access to the heated pool, hot tub, and outdoor bar, and features include a personal cabana attendant, plush seating for up to 10 guests, six water bottles, pool towels, privacy shades, wireless internet, and two padded chaise lounge chairs.

Dining

Let’s be honest: One of the main reasons to take a vacation is the excuse to eat lavishly whenever you want. With a staycation at home, the menu is exactly the same as when you’re not on vacation. Where’s the fun in that?

No matter where you take your meals while staying at the Inn at Fox Hollow, your options are deliciously expanded beyond your home pantry. For starters, the Courtyard and Room Service Menu offers a wide range of choices that dip into multiple cuisine styles. There’s the amped up appetizers of the “cravings” section; soup and salad for light bites; burgers, wraps, and panini for something more filling; 12-inch homemade pizzas; a kids’ menu; and decadent desserts like chocolate fudge cake and New York cheesecake.

While the hotel buffet area is closed until further notice, our complimentary meals are available for pick up in the main Hearth Room during the adjusted service hours of 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. daily for breakfast, and 6 to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for dinner.

And back to the Courtyard Lounge, you can hang out in the sleek and cool Vintage25 Bar & Lounge, which overlooks the Courtyard. Vintage25 features a gastro-bar menu with mouthwatering dishes paired with an extensive selection of premium spirits, wines & beer.

Guests of the Inn at Fox Hollow also have access to Volpe Ristorante. Located adjacent to the Inn and upstairs at the Fox Hollow’s storied Long Island catering hall venue, Volpe Ristorante serves authentic Italian cuisine from a kitchen presided over by chef de cuisine Giuseppe Maone, a walking cookbook of Sicilian recipes who's been cooking for more than 30 years.

There’s also plenty of dining to be had outside of the grounds at the Inn at Fox Hollow. Along with enjoyable neighborhood eats in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, guests can also take advantage of the Scotto restaurant connection. This includes Blackstone Steakhouse in Melville, Opus Steakhouse in Jericho, and Rare650 in Syosset.

Shopping

The Inn at Fox Hollow’s location on the North Shore of Long Island gives guests access to high-end shopping in the town’s surrounding the hotel. The North Shore is filled with scenic beauty, along with local shopping gems like jewelry stores, boutiques, well-known clothing establishments, high-end decor dealers, and much more. Boutiques and shops include the Americana Manhasset, Woodbury Common, Roosevelt Field Mall, and Walt Whitman Shops.

Takeaway

Beyond amenities like the Courtyard pool, dining options, and shopping access, the Inn at Fox Hollow also satisfies staycationers with cleaning services, safety and security, and other features like a fitness center, concierge services, computer station, ample parking, and a sprawling landscape with gorgeous gardens. It’s a truly tranquil getaway from home life, the stresses of work, and the new hybrid home-work environment.
